Product Review: Mixed Chicks Leave In Conditioner

So one of my friends dropped me off a sample of this leave in to try and the PJ in me was like "what are you waiting for?" Lol.... So I dc'ed because I hadn't this past week and I'm not gonna poo this week either. My hair had great definition after the dc ( I had a pack of Dr. Miracle's DC laying in the closet...even though some ingredients were yucky...my hair was really defined and felt great! I used as least I could though and left on for 2 hours cause I took a nap) I rubbed in a little MC and sealed with my trusted coconut oil. First off I knew I wouldn't like it. Usually my hair gets baby soft when wet and sealed but this time I felt the hardness already.

Now, I contemplated using it because of the ingredients :
Ingredients: Water, glycerin, amodimethicone, emulsifying wax, hydrolyzed wheat protein,/pvp crosspolymer, methylgluceth-20, hydroxypropyl trimonium choloride, octyl methoxycinnamate, hydroxyethyl celloluse, jojoba oil, safflower oil, primrose oil, wheat amino acid, crosilk, hydrolyzed collagen (marine), phenoxyethanel, methylparaben, proplyparaben, butylparaben, FD&C red #40, FD&C yellow #5, fragrance

but I said I have seen positive reviews & comments and I can't make a full decision until I actually use it. After using it I go and check out reviews....the best reviews came from those that had any type of 3 hair. No one with 4 b/c said it was good for them. I knew it was created by mixed chicks but it said for African American hair also. I should of used my judegment and realized that this was really for "Mixed Chicks"...

I'm not saying it's a bad product but it's not for my hair; you may like it. I also ordered some Curl's Goddess Glaze. I'll be using that tomorrow but I started reading reviews and is finding that Curl's is a better for those with more loose curls or thin hair. If anything, the glaze will be used as a curl activator. Lol.

I don't like having a not so good response but all can't be! So now I know to stick to my own leave in conditioner: Mint Condition conditioner (Divine Response ....<3 this stuff) about an oz, a little glycerin, teaspoon of coconut oil, grapseed oil & castor oil, aloe vera juice & water.  I seal with coconut oil and I get that baby soft feeling AND the mint smell stays in my hair! I love that.......

If you have recipes for leave ins or have used MC please tell me your experience.

Happy leave-in day!

  2. Honey, I am not into expensive stuff. And since your hair is thick like mine and a little protein sensitive, like mine......you won't like it. We need stuff to penetrate our thick stuff. Lol
